I Got Hipped

Deep in the South among the swamps and bayous, where alligators and conjurors meet, you’ll find a city of magic and dreamy dreams; a city with 2nd line parades on Sundays and red beans on Mondays. It’s a place where history and traditions are preserved and made simultaneously. 

 It’s here you can see the magical site of Mardi Gras Indians in the streets and get your fortune told by voodoo queens. It’s a place where people come together over good food, drinks, and music. It might have many names, The Big Easy, The Crescent City, and the City That Care Forgot. But there is only one place! New Orleans.

This record is my humble tribute to the spirit and legacy of New Orleans. A tribute to music legends like Dr. John, Allen Toussaint, and Professor Longhair, to mention a few.

 The title track “I Got Hipped” is an original song where I have tried to capture some of the ingredients that make up the gumbo we call New Orleans. And hopefully, when you put on this record, you’ll get a small taste of what a night out in The Big Easy would sound like. But beware of the spell the southern lady might cast. Because before you know it, you’ve got hipped to the most wonderful thing.
